Basketball is almost here and I'm afraid that my teammates won't be eligible. It's their own fault though, they need to leave their laptops at school. I don't know what to do this year, if we don't have a ball team. If we don't have a team, I'll gladly like to be with the Akula ballers, if we don't have any team. If we do have a team, i'll be the most happiest person because having a ball team in Akiuk is awesome. I like my ball team and we are a small team, plus a small school. Playing ball with them is the best because we share the ball and everyone gets the ball before we shoot. Basketball is the best here, and everyone knows that. I hope my boys are eligible so we can play ball together one or two more years. I'm not being mean, but our boys need to catch up on their school work and leave their laptops at home. We are getting attitudes too because we don't get enough sleep. Basketball, c'mon boys, catch up. It hurts so bad inside me right now cause most of our boys aren't eligible, and they aren't working hard to catch up.

Akleng, akleng. I wonder if leaving their laptops would really solve it? I didn't think so, but maybe you're right. Thanks for being brave to "call your friends out". I think COMMUNITY (a good one, at least) means more than just helping people when they're having a hard time. It also means speaking the truth to people (our friends!) even when they don't want to hear it. You're a good friend to do that - very courageous.
Hey Uyang'aq, nice post. I think we'll have a team this year, it just might not have everyone on it. I'm sad about that too. I'm glad we'll have you at point guard though!
I'm impressed with your blog! The last one about community is really good too. What happened to that little kid I used to know, running around the court playing for Ayaprun? : - ) Whatever happens this season Uyang, you've become someone we're all proud of - a hard working student (not just in bball season) who gets along with everyone (AND a good baller too!).
